To make local produce from Georgia and surrounding states more visible and accessible to chefs, restaurateurs, and school nutrition directors in its service area, Royal Food Service held its second food show on May 17, 2017. This by-invitation event featured forty-four farms and producers who gathered on Royal's docks to highlight their best seasonal produce and other items. Hundreds attended including locally renowned chefs—some of the best of Atlanta and surrounding areas! A visit from Georgia's agriculture leader, Commissioner Gary Black, led to a tour of the many local products and meeting the growers. Over 50 school nutrition directors and their teams arrived to meet the farmers and consider local products for their nutrition programs. Read more.


image placeholderDecember 19, 2016 - Royal Food Service Suplier Jaemor Farms Receives $5,000 Grant Award from Greener Fields Together/Cultivating Change, As part of its ongoing support for local Georgia farmers, Royal Food Service along with its supply chain partner PRO*ACT, has announced winners of its second Cultivating Change farm grant initiative. Among the 38 grant applicants, there were sixteen winners chosen and Jaemor Farms was among eight chosen by a review panel, receiving $5,000.00. An additional eight winners were determined by popular votes cast through the Greener Fields Together™ web site. In all, over $90,000.00 was awarded. This is the second year that local farmers have received grants through the Greener Fields Together™ sustainability and local produce initiative. Read more.
